Documenting VMware vCenter with Microsoft PowerShell and Word Version 1.51

July 20, 2015

PowerShell, VMware

Jacob Rutski has updated his VMware vCenter documentation script to version 1.51.

Now that I have ESXi 6 running in my lab, I was finally able to run Jacob’s script. My first impression was boy this is a noisy script. I ask Jacob for permission to try and cleanup some of the extraneous console output. Jacob gave me permission and I went to work. One thing I was not able to cleanup was the VMware script that is called to import modules. Nothing I can do about all that junk on the screen.

Jacob updated his script with two other updates:

  • Cleaned up some extra PCLI calls – set to variables
  • Set Issues parameter to disable full run

Read Jacob’s article here for the 1.5 update.

Any comments, suggestions, questions or enhancement requests should be directed to Jacob, not me.
